Adam Rippon (born November 11, 1989) is an American mens skater.
Career[]
Adam Rippon won the National silver medal on the novice level in 2005. As a result of his strong nationals showing, he was selected to compete at an international event, where he placed 6th. Due to his 11th place finish on the junior level at the 2006 Nationals, he did not earn a event for 2006. At the 2007 Nationals, he placed 6th on the junior level.
In the 2007–2008 Junior Grand Prix season, Rippon won his first Junior Grand Prix event and won the silver medal at the second, qualifying him for the Junior Grand Prix Final. At the Junior Grand Prix Final, Rippon became the first man to break 200 points at a Junior level competition. He went on to the United States National Championships, where he won the Junior title. This earned him a trip to the World Junior Championships, where he became the second American man in a row to win the title, and the first man in years to win that title without attempting a triple axel.
Rippon moved up to the senior level in the 2008–2009 season.
