Caryn Kadavy (born December 9, 1967 in Erie, Pennsylvania), is an American figure skater.

Amateur CareerEdit

Kadavy first qualified for U.S. Nationals in 1985, at the age of 17.[1]. During the 4 years she competed she never ranked lower than 3rd, and placed 2nd in 1986.

Internationally her best year was 1985 when she won the U.S. Olympic Festival, Skate Canada and the Moscow News Cup. Her highest placement at the World Championships was 3rd in 1987.

She competed in the 1988 Winter Olympics, ranking 6th in the short program, but was forced to withdraw prior to the free skate due to illness.[2]

Kadavy was coached by Carlo Fassi at the Broadmoor Skating Club; she also worked with Toller Cranston prior to the 1987–88 season. She was known for her classical elegant style.

Professional CareerEdit

Kadavy embarked on a professional career after the 1987-1988 season. She first toured with Katarina Witt and Brian Boitano. She has continued to skate regularly in shows and professional competitions.

Her professional titles include Miko Masters (1993), Hershey's Kisses (1993 and 1994), U.S. Open (1993), Canadian Pro (1996), and Ladies Pro Final (1997).

Other InterestsEdit

Kadavy lives in Erie, Pennsylvania. She works as a coach, choreographer, and costume designer for young skaters. [1]

In her free time she enjoys tennis, golf, and water skiing. She rides a motorcycle. In 2007 she married Carter Doolittle.[1]
